Theresa Poppei, CFA/ASA/MBA is a Special Projects Consultant at Houlihan Capital specializing in Valuation. Ms. Poppei is responsible for expanding the firm's tax, SEC compliance, and Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) valuation practices. Ms. Poppei is also focused on building Houlihan Capital's litigation support and expert witness testimony capability. She has more than 30 years of valuation experience, including serving as a federal court expert witness.

Ms. Poppei joined Houlihan Capital from Duff & Phelps, LLC where she was a Managing Director and specialized in valuations for tax and SEC compliance purposes for both corporate and private clients. Ms. Poppei's prior experience includes serving as Managing Director at Ceteris US, LLC and establishing her own independent financial consulting and valuation services firm. She also held the position of National Director (Non-CPA Partner) with Arthur Andersen, where she lead the Chicago Financial Valuation practice.

Ms. Poppei holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University in Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance/Economics from Mundelein College of Chicago. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), an Accredited Senior Business Valuation Appraiser (ASA) and a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago, and The ESOP Association.
